ArtQube
I got involved in the maiden voyage of ArtQube at Kensington Olympia recently. It was great fun to let loose on such an enormous canvas. ArtQube is such an elegant idea, by a lovely man called Simon Penn, I’m amazed it’s not been done before. But it hasn’t so, not surprisingly, when we used it at the Event Show at Kensington Olympia, there were an awful lot of big companies interested in using the concept. It is a giant cube of four canvasses with four artists, one painting on each side. We had two days to respond to the brief which was visually displaying the answers to questions on a survey about the events industry. Mine was: What’s Hot and what’s Not Hot in the events industry? That’s why it has a side with warm colours and another with cool colours.
I hope to be working with ArtQube again sometime soon.

Fiona, this is so cool. I love the work you have done in response to the question, and I really adore this chance for you to paint this HUGE canvas…a true dream for me! What a stroke of brilliance for you to divide this in to warm and cool colors to express what is hot and what is not! I love that…and showing the progression was excellent, too! Awe, this is fantastic! I wish I were there to see for real! London is HOT right now with art and that is so cool!
Thanks so much, Sweet Fiona for sharing this great experience!
