broken umbrellas…art?

Originally uploaded by fionalongart.

After some advice from my brother, I’ve started Twittering…a little…when I remember. I haven’t quite got into the swing of it yet and clearly haven’t quite grasped its potential. I think I’ve been converted now though since a fellow broken umbrella enthusiast (BellaBrella) has found me and I have in turn discovered their amazing blog: Better Off Soaked where people send in their broken umbrella photographic contributions from all over the world. I think there’s something rather poetic about seeing an umbrella lying in a gutter or stuck in a tree. They’re like poor little wounded animals. It’s always such a treat to find someone who’s on the same wavelength as me since I get on some pretty unusual wavelengths sometimes…or do I? Maybe there’s a whole group of people who understand this one?

Well, Fiona, you know I understand the unusual wavelength thing! Tee Hee It sounds like you have quite a brother to recommend such things as twitter to you. :) I am still trying to learn the ropes over there, too. Finding someone with the obsession of broken umbrellas makes it all worth the effort, though. At least it seems that way to me. Who would have known? We don’t see too many umbrellas around here, much less broken ones. If I find any, though, I will send you some photos.

I am quite eager to see this sculpture.

    Have a Great Day!
