Head Casting

I’ve been doing lots of casting lately under the excellent supervision of technician Kirsty Reed. She invited me to assist her in casting a head today. It’s a fascinating process…rather like some kind of torture. If the victim has a panic attack whilst the dental alginate is being adminstered, they are allowed to just rip it off but by the plaster stage, it is too late and they have to wait until they are cut out. They have to raise their hand to let the person with the knife know that they have hit skin! I’m so glad I volunteered to assist and not be the head!!!
