Catch by the Eye, Save in the Heart

We had the private view of our Catch by the Eye, Save in the Heart exhibition on Sunday night. It was a huge success with a great crowd and some wonderful artwork. I was thrilled to sell my wall painting to a really nice couple who fell in love with it immediately. It sold within 20 minutes of opening. I love it when that happens!

    Oh Fiona,

This is wonderful news! I can see just why your painting sold so quickly…I am sure you do love it when that happens! :) It is very, very beautiful…and the dark background just makes the colors POP forward. Of course the beautiful artist helps a lot, too :)

I am so glad this exhibit was such a grand success for everyone all around!

    Thanks for sharing this, Fiona.

Thanks Kim! I’m afraid I’ve rather misled you with the photo though! It was actually a new brick wall painting that sold. They seem to be very popular!

I do love the bird of paradise painting though. Just a shame nobody wants to buy that one! ;-)

  3. Kim:

Isn’t that funny, the brick wall wins out over the bird of paradise? It just goes to show you one never knows what will be attractive to the viewer! Those brick walls are really, really awesome, though, Fiona! You have to admit that! I have been thinking a lot about how you never know what will interest a viewer. I have come to the conclusion it all depends on a viewer’s geographical location, their state of mind and where they think they might hang or place it. There are so many issues…even how you display the work. I even heard of someone just couldn’t get a particular painting sold, so they turned it over (up-side-down) and it sold right away! LOL You just never, ever know!

Absolutely! Maybe it’s a London thing! I wonder how the brick wall paintings would sell in the New Forest? I may actually give it a try in the summer. It will be interesting to find out!

Selling paintings is such a random thing at times, it’s hard to conclude anything from anything! That’s why I’m thrilled that I seem to have hit a nerve with some people with the brick walls! I love doing them!

Fiona…gee I wonder if your walls would sell in the New Forest! Maybe…in the summer they might! My experience there was not so great with the more contemporary works, though. :) Many people liked my work …and one actually resides in the NF now…but for the most part, people didn’t like the idea of plopping down the pounds for them :)

It is so hard to know what will sell and what will not…I am glad your walls are selling, too. I have sent several people to see what you are doing with that. One of my blog readers is interested in doing a wall series in photography, so I sent her to have a look/see of your work.

    Thanks Fiona!
