Imaginary Geometries
The Imaginary Geometries show curated by Cristina Prudente and Nadia Perrotta was a big success. I met some lovely people who were also exhibiting. We are such an international crowd! Cristina had found us all on websites such as Saatchi Stuart and Artmesh and approached us because she liked our work so much. Vivien Miu Har Lau came all the way from Hong Kong, Toni Ottinger from Germany and Mumi Trabucco from Japan! And I moaned about what a difficult journey it was getting all my work to Chelsea from Colliers Wood!
The private view night was great fun with the best food I’ve had a such an event, provided by a wonderful nearby italian restaurant. This was washed down with some much needed ice cold beer. It was a scorcher! I was really pleased to display by umbrellas with spot lights on them. It really makes a difference! They were originally near the entrance but had to be moved to a more subtle location in case of animal rights activists!
I was also pleased to try out some o my newer sculptures in different display cabinets. Even though that doesn’t realy fit with the concept of the work…they do look good! I also met Ted Barlow who was exhibiting some beautiful drawings. He’s entering the Jerwood Drawing Prize which I’m working on next week. Good luck Ted!
